Five Seasons

Branson and the Lakes Area is a year-round meeting and convention destination with five fabulous seasons and we do our best to make the most of each one.

Heat Up With Hot Winter Fun
Branson is located far enough north to enjoy all four traditional season changes, yet far enough south to experience
relatively mild winters. Locals like to think that we have just enough winter to help us fully appreciate spring, when it arrives.
January and February are referred to as our “Hot Winter Fun” season. Value-minded meeting planners will find local hotels and conference centers very responsive to their budget needs during the first two months of the year. Plus, you’ll be able to fully enjoy Branson’s attractions at a slightly slower pace and without the usual crowds. Shop fabulous after-Christmas sales, play golf, visit museums, go to shows and fish. There is really not much you can’t do during Hot Winter Fun and the special deals and great discounts will warm you right up!

Spring Blooms Beautifully in Branson
As the daytime temperatures get warmer in March, April and early May, abundant dogwoods, redbuds, wildflowers,
tulips, daffodils and forsythia begin to bloom, transforming the Ozarks into a colorful and fragrant springtime oasis. Elaborate landscaping at area business and public parks makes for postcard-perfect pictures. Volunteers work diligently each year on beautification projects throughout the area. Songbirds, purple martins, and hummingbirds return to greet the new season. And as it is a time of rebirth and renewal, many of the area’s live performance venues introduce new acts, shows and performers in the springtime. Meeting planners will find this the second-most affordable time to bring their group to the Ozarks and to enjoy all of Branson and the Lakes Area considerable charms.

Branson Sizzles in the Summer
The Associated Press calls Branson “one of the top family destinations in the country” and for good reason. With three area lakes that offer an abundance of recreational opportunities from wakeboarding to scuba diving to fly fishing, and a line-up of kid-friendly live entertainment and attractions, affordable and fun eateries, interactive exhibits, festivals, water-parks, mini-golf and go-karts galore – families will find Branson is just right. As a matter of fact, many of Branson’s top entertainment families feature several generations performing on stage together in harmony.
Many summertime meetings and conventions choose Branson knowing their attendees will plan to build a little family vacation around their conference program, and in response, most area hotels will agree to make your conference room rate available for several days on either side of the actual program dates for those who wish to extend their stay. But since this is one of the busiest times in Branson and availability can be limited, we encourage you to plan ahead.

Autumn Glory
The heavily wooded hills surrounding Branson and the Lakes Area explode in fabulous autumn colors, brilliant shades of red and gold, throughout the month of October. The slightly cooler temperatures and lower humidity make this an ideal time of year for being outdoors and enjoying golf outings on our many area courses. (See a complete list on page 89). Birdwatchers gather to observe migrating flocks, hikers and bikers explore the many trails and soak up the beauty of the season. One of the most popular ways to enjoy the fall colors is from the water, gliding smoothly along as the lake reflects the scenic foliage. Branson tends to catch its breath a little bit each fall, following a hectic summer and before the annual Veterans and Christmas celebrations.

Ozark Mountain Christmas

For nearly two decades, the Branson Lakes Area has transformed into a festive wonderland during this special time and features spectacular lighting displays, dazzling shows celebrating the true spirit of Christmas, theme parks in all their holiday glory and numerous special events. Beginning in early November, this season brings together a broad and unexpected mix of world-class entertainments, recreation, shopping, elaborate decorative displays and blends them with a warm and generous holiday spirit to provide a truly exhilarating experience for meeting and convention attendees. Ozark Mountain Christmas is THE busiest season in Branson, but you won’t want to miss it!

So, no matter what time of the year your event is held, Branson and the Lakes Area has a season for you, offering plenty to see and do and experience.
